Go Cougars Retrogrades!

Imagine a set of fans of a sports franchise–let’s call them Cougars’ fans. A segment of said Cougars’ fans are so passionate about their team that they know and love the history, attend conventions with other fans, and revere the way the great players, managers, owners, etc. ran the organization.

Then, new leadership of Team Cougars decide to break with this very successful past. All of a sudden. Sure, the franchise might have needed a little tinkering, a reassessment of practices and procedures, but hardly a revolution. Still, out with the ‘old’ in with the ‘new’.

But, the new teams sucked. The new management ruined much of what it meant to identify as a Cougars fan. Cougars followers used to be full of righteous pride for their veritable allegiance, but their spirits sank as they were instructed to embrace a false, virtue signaling humility which moved them to declare other, inferior teams in the league “just as good” or “equals who we ought to ‘accompany'” along with other trite nonsense. They even went so far as to place the children of fans into direct danger for being the children of Cougars’ fans.

Decades pass. Various Cougars’ outlets are closing–many bankrupt. All that being the case, the spark of what joy it meant to be a Cougars fanatic still resides, despite all of the losing and harm (self-inflicted and otherwise) by the organization. The fire still burns in those crusty, old, but also young Cougars fans of the bygone era… Die hards to the end, and beyond.

Should the Cougars’ management STILL effort to stamp out those who remain, with their old regalia and old ways–well, one would have only one logical conclusion to hold: The new management wants to destroy the Cougars.

Now, understand and fathom that the Cougars represent the wellspring of life eternal and the Body of Christ on Earth.

A just revolution that unseats the current management is thus more than warranted.

Indeed; if Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life, failing to live out that reality makes us much less than believers and little more than opportunistic hypocrites.
