This COVID-19 thing is an unwarranted hysteria that governments local, provincial, national–the world over have created. I mean, how many times do the mass media outlets have to echo the same talking points until someone asks: 1) Why is the phrasing eerily similar? 2) Why don’t the numbers including projections match up with the state of induced panic? 3) Why does it happen to be that the most leftist outlets across the country–California, Illinois, New York–have moved the quickest and in the most draconian ways to shut down society, as if they were ready for this? And, the really big one, 4) What if no one ever knew about this?

Note: statistics from the WHO already reveal that COVID-19 is neither more contagious nor deadly than the yearly flu.

Remember the mass hysteria from the influenza outbreak of 2019-2020, wherein between 300,000 and 500,000 hospitalizations occurred in the United States alone from the flu? There were between 20,000 and 45,000 deaths. Of those, 154 occurred in children. In the last two months since COVID-19 has been in the United States, 20 children have died from influenza; not one child has died from COVID-19.

Exactly. I don’t remember the panic or memorials or the martial law either.

In Ghostbusters (the actual one, not that female remake/abomination), the boys had every right to sound the tocsin, given that hapless city inspector Walter Peck shut down the grid, releasing ghouls and goblins galore into greater Manhattan.

As for us, however, I just don’t see convincing and actual evidence that the Stay-Puft COVID Marshmallow Man is coming to town.

So why did it happen now? Well, I addressed that in a previous post, but the apparatchiks the world over must have seen something on the horizon, in a Richard Burr-like fashion.

One more popping of the everything bubble, this time, and the masses might just wonder how much the command-control, democratic warfare-welfare states of the post-war world could allow another economic collapse. Coronavirus of all coronaviruses to the rescue…

America and Americans have a compelling history (if anyone cared to study it) of reacting in, let’s call them revolutionary ways in defense of free markets, individual rights, and freedom. Mercantilism was the putrid seed of British despotism over the colonies; and, this current system is mercantilism with a heavy dose of tyranny on human growth hormone.

Hayek pointed out we have really two choices going forward: free markets or serfdom.

Choose the former, or we’ll all be slimed depending on the Walter Pecks of the world.
