The Persecution of Jussie Smollett
Oh, the terrible injussieness–sorry injustice–of the whole episode!
How long really could the Socialist Republic of Cook and its capital, Chicago, carry on this persecution of poor Jussie without recognizing that the rule of law is so dead and buried here that a black, homosexual actor would have to receive some sort of preferential treatment in the end?
Sure, any unconnected citizen-slave of Cook would be facing some serious jail time with 16 counts against him, but in the end, isn’t Jussie just a hero-victim here? Didn’t he alert us to (whether he fabricated the assault against him or not) the real problem that exists in Chicago; namely, roving bands of MAGA hat-wearing, Trump-supporting, homophobic gangs who target actors in Streeterville on their way to Subway? I mean, Jussie was just trying to be like the hoi polloi and get his footlong tuna melt, and in humbly lowering himself to be one of the proletariat, he became the victim of his own orchestrated assault. Oh the horror!
Today, Chicago justice was served when the pillars of jurisprudence and ethics in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office dropped all 16 indictments. After all, the Chicago Police Department–which is not busy enough with (not) solving sexual assaults, robberies and murders—expended enormous sums of money and countless hours and a grand jury moved to indict poor Jussie. Talk about overkill! Shouldn’t the taxpayers’ money have been spent on ghost payrolling city workers to not fix the gaping potholes on every Chicago street? And, what about a task force of social workers assigned to fan out to counsel and console pampered actors who might copy-cat Jussie’s ridiculous account of his attack? They need better made up assault stories–perhaps a program then at Harold Washington Library. “How to Concoct a Believable Racist, Homophobic or Transphobic Attack Against You” coming this summer…
